recurring investment / recurring payments

Under Consideration Bellos Evangelos ● 6 days ago

I would like to suggest an improvement to the recurring investment functionality that could make it significantly more useful for investors who want to automate their savings and investment process.

The first suggestion is to add more flexibility to the scheduling options.

Currently, recurring investments are generally based on simple frequencies such as weekly or monthly. It would be very useful to also support options such as:

  • Twice per month
  • Specific days or periods within each month

For example, many employees are paid twice per month. A user could therefore configure an investment plan such as:

  • First investment after the 1st of each month
  • Second investment after the 16th of each month

This would allow recurring investments to follow the user's actual income schedule instead of forcing the user into a fixed weekly or monthly pattern.

A second, and potentially even more useful improvement, would be to connect recurring deposits with recurring investments.

For example:

A user could set up a recurring deposit of €50 every week.

Separately, the user could configure a recurring investment to purchase 1 unit of a specific ETF once per month, for example an ETF trading at approximately €190.

In this way, the account would gradually accumulate cash during the month and automatically execute the investment when the scheduled investment date arrives.

For this to work effectively, an important additional option would be required:

Recurring investments should be able to use the available cash balance of the Freedom24 account as their funding source.

The workflow could therefore be:

Weekly recurring deposit → Freedom24 cash balance → Monthly recurring ETF purchase

This would effectively turn the recurring functionality into a complete automated savings and investment system.

It would also give users much more flexibility. Deposits and investments would not necessarily need to follow the same schedule or amount. A user could save weekly, receive salary twice per month, or make several small deposits, while executing one larger investment at the end of the month.

I believe this could be particularly useful for long-term ETF investors and users following a regular savings / DCA strategy.

Thank you for considering the suggestion.

Best regards,
